Some Helpful Tips To Stay Warm And Save On Heating Costs This Winter

We found a short helpful article from Benefits.gov titled "Stay Warm and Save Energy This Winter". Some tips include:

* Install a programmable thermostat. This device enables you to set the proper temperatures when you're home and away. Turning your thermostat back 10-15 degrees for 8 hours can save 5-15 percent a year on your heating bill, according to the DOE.

* Check your heating system regularly. Proper furnace maintenance saves money, conserves energy, and prevents costly repairs in the future. Also, check and clean your heating system filters regularly to maintain proper airflow.

Energy Saving Tips For Spring

Despite the harsh winter weather just a few weeks ago, it soon will be time to get ready for Spring! While searching for a helpful resource for you, on the Delaware government website we found some helpful tips on how to save money on your energy bills as Spring starts. One of the tips reads,

"Give your AC a tuneup. When the temperature starts rising, air conditioners start working overtime. Give your AC a tuneup early to ensure it runs efficiently, economically and safely throughout the season. When servicing your AC, you should replace your filters, check your refrigerant levels, and clean your evaporator coils. You may want to schedule an inspection and maintenance visit from a certified HVAC technician, who can make sure your system is up to speed and catch problems before they become major expenses. Routine maintenance can reduce your AC’s energy consumption by 15 percent."

If you live or have a commercial property in Collin, Cooke, Denton or Grayson County and need help with any heating and cooling services then you are welcome to call us at (214) 326-0079.

Furnace And Heating Repair Gainesville, Sherman, Denison, Grayson County

In case you didn't see any emails or social media posts this morning, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), the governing body that oversees the electric grid in Texas has declared an “energy emergency alert three” instructing electric utilities throughout the state, including BTU, to begin instituting rolling outages to help rebalance the electric grid. Part of the update in the link (found at the bottom of this post) reads, "Customers who are currently experiencing a power outage need to turn off electric heating units, furnaces, and appliances in their homes and businesses, to assist in BTU’s efforts to restore power as safely and quickly as possible. Once power is restored, customers are asked to wait 15-30 minutes before turning electric devices back on in order to avoid undue stress on the electric facilities in the area."
